When I stepped into my role as CEO of Dalet, I was inspired by the company’s forward-thinking approach and its impact on shaping the future of the Media and Entertainment. Yet, as I look around at our rapidly evolving industry today, it’s clear to me that we are at a crossroads. This moment calls for profound reflection and decisive action. This is why I felt compelled to write our new manifesto, Restoring Meaning and Responsibility in the Media and Entertainment Industry.

A Defining Moment for Media

Media has always been at the heart of storytelling, shaping our culture and connecting society through shared experiences. It has been a trusted source of truth, a collective voice, and a space where ideas and values could thrive. But today, the role of the media is at a crossroads.

In our BANI world (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, and Incomprehensible), the media industry faces unprecedented challenges. The industry is fragile, constantly worried about its direction, undergoing non-linear transformations like divestitures and re-mergers, and lacks a clear blueprint for success. Traditional models are under strain, audience behaviors are shifting dramatically, and trust in media is eroding. We’re at a point where the role of media in society needs to be redefined.

Our sector faces both remarkable opportunities and serious challenges. Trust in media is waning, younger audiences demand more authentic connections, and the rise of AI is transforming every aspect of our work. These forces are reshaping storytelling and pressing us to examine not just how we innovate, but why we do so.

Amidst this complexity, AI bursts forth as a transformative force of immense promise. It has the power to revolutionize creativity, expand perspectives, and streamline workflows. Yet, its challenges are deeply complex: AI can appropriate and replicate artists’ work without consent, generate false narratives at scale, and contribute to the rising tide of misinformation. Cloud technology, similarly, enables unprecedented connectivity and access, leveling the playing field for creators and audiences. At the same time, the environmental cost of massive data centers and steep financial barriers limit equitable access, while growing security vulnerabilities expose organizations to new risks.

Perhaps most transformative is how younger generations now approach media—not simply as passive consumers, but as active participants who both create and engage. This shift is redefining content itself and calls for an industry willing to meet audiences where they are, embracing new platforms and real-time interaction. And yet, fragmentation persists, with content scattered and meaning diluted, sometimes leading to a sense of superficiality or even existential doubt among emerging creators and viewers.

The manifesto is my call to action to all who care deeply about the future of media. It is built around three core ideas that have been guiding my thoughts recently:

1. The Promise and Responsibility of AI

AI and cloud technologies offer tremendous potential to amplify creativity and enhance workflows. But harnessing this power responsibly is crucial. Innovation without ethics can erode trust and worsen inequality. That’s why our focus is on ethical, human-centered innovation—solutions that empower creators while protecting the integrity of their work.

2. Rebuilding Connections with Younger Audiences

Younger audiences have gradually lost trust in traditional media, whilst feeling increasingly disconnected. They crave immediacy, relevance, and authenticity in the content they consume. To rebuild this trust, we must meet them where they are, creating genuine connections through the stories we share. We have the opportunity to redefine how we engage and inspire future generations.

3. Leading the Way with Ethical Leadership

The challenges facing our industry demand leadership that prioritizes inclusivity, trust, and long-term value. At Dalet, we are committed to driving meaningful transformation. We help our customers adapt to change, while keeping a clear sense of purpose at the core of everything we do. together, we can create a future where technology empowers creativity and collaboration.

We believe this is the time to reshape storytelling, rebuild trust, and transform how content is created and consumed. AI and cloud technologies hold the keys to this transformation, enabling more collaborative workflows, unlocking new creative potential, and empowering the entire content ecosystem. But this isn’t just a technological debate, it’s a leadership one.

Embracing AI and cloud requires leaders who believe in their potential, are willing to self-question, and will adapt to this new world rather than resist it. To harness these technologies responsibly, we must address the risks and ethical implications head-on. Industry initiatives like C2PA are already working to ensure content authenticity in this new digital landscape.

In partnership with Dalet, France Télévisions integrated C2PA to tackle misinformation & content authenticity and won the EBU Technology & Innovation Award 2025

The new Dalet manifesto builds on my earlier drive to rebase the industry: the need to move beyond outdated paradigms to reshape media technology for a more agile, collaborative, and impactful future. My hope is that it will serve not just as a blueprint for change, but as a call to action to come together and address the most pressing issues head-on.

This manifesto is a call to action for the entire media community: media companies, storytellers, suppliers, and service providers alike. Together, we need to rebase, retool, and reconnect with our audiences, our purpose, and our values. It’s about putting people above processes, empowering creators, and embracing innovation that is ethical, inclusive, and impactful.

At Dalet, we believe this moment in history is one we must seize with optimism for the future and a shared commitment to progress. Together with you, our trusted partners and customers, we can lead the way in delivering stories that matter, rebuilding trust with audiences, and responsibly stewarding the immense power of technology. Together, we can create a future where technology empowers creativity and collaboration.

The urgency to act has never been greater.
